CHILDHOOD

Throughout the Colonial Period, children were thought of as little adults and evil by nature. They were bound out and taught from an early age as to how to produce products or work in factories. They were never given the chance to grow up and have a childhood. Since the Industrial Revolution, children are seen differently. They are innocent and actually are given a chance to grow up and be children.
Looking back on my childhood, my brothers and I were given the chance to grow up slowly; enjoying each day and living as children should. We had the opportunity to learn freely and to participate in activities with others our age. I loved how we were given as much freedom and independence as we could handle at certain stages in life.
